Media Manager: New York, NY

Job Description & Duties: Synaptic Digital seeks individuals with media
relations/public relations experience, preferably in the tech or auto sectors, for a
full-time staff position. Ideal applicants will have some experience identifying
story angles, writing press releases/media alerts and pitching stories for
broadcast media (TV, radio, web). Experience managing multiple
accounts/projects and interfacing directly with clients is necessary. Knowledge of
SMTs, RMTs, PSAs, multimedia news releases, etc., would be a plus.

Responsibilities include:
• Managing multiple projects at various stages
• Interfacing with internal sales teams and directly with clients
• Actively participating in client account strategy sessions to ensure
fulfillment of client business objectives.
• Writing media pitches
• Developing media lists (experience with Cision, a plus)
• Identifying and cultivating day-to-day relationships with television, radio
and Web journalists, broadcasters and bloggers
• Pitching and follow-up with television, radio and Web journalists,
broadcasters and bloggers

Requirements include:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
• 2-3+years of media relations or public relations agency experience
• Broadcast, cable, or online social media experience, a plus.
• Pre-existing media contacts, a plus.
• A passion for news and social media.
• Applicant must be organized, disciplined, detailed, professional, and
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of Salesforce, a plus.
