ALMA: The Award Goes To…

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) is the world’s largest prize for children’s and young adult literature. The award, which amounts to SEK 5 million, is awarded annually and is designed to promote interest in children’s and young adult literature, and in children’s rights, globally. Dutch Author Guus Kuijer was the recipient of 2012 award.

ALMA wanted to spread awareness of the award that is presented to authors having high literary quality, humanism and respect for children.  They wanted to distribute highlights of The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award event held in Sweden to reputed broadcasters, news sites, bloggers and journalists across the globe.

ALMA partnered with Synaptic Digital to distribute content on its news platform thenewsmarket.com that provides over 30,000 media outlets quick access to newsworthy information.  ALMA has been a consistent client of Synaptic Digital for few years for distribution services, creative concepts, and production services.

The content published on thenewsmarket.com received over 140 downloads from over 22 media outlets. The content was aired on television channels like Al Jazeera, Euronews, ARD, BBC, Deutsche Welle, NOS, and RTL and published on online news sites such as The Guardian, Reuters, and The Telegraph.
